The major reasons that I began hormone replacement therapy using transdermal estradiol and micronized progesterone were to preserve my bone and to avoid the pulse of heavy metals released around menopause. That would include lead. Still using HRT 26 years later despite some pushback from one of my doctors recently. Evidence for the benefits of HRT keeps accumulating, but misunderstandings of the Womens Health Initiative HRT study persist.
Than you Janet for Tami g the time to respond- do you know how many men I reach out to in this space-infinity and never get the courtesy so I appreciate very much. We all need to become the CEO/ Captain of our own healthspan and teach the Docs along the way….
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses the critical relationship between hormones and bone health, emphasizing the importance of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in managing osteoporosis. He highlights key studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of different forms, doses, and rhythms of hormone therapy, advocating for a personalized approach to treatment. Dr. Doug also critiques common misconceptions about hormone therapy and stresses the need for individualized care based on specific hormone levels and patient needs.
Hey, I noticed you mentioned that NASCAR had banned leaded fuel in race cars. But did you know that Sunoco continues to sell leaded racing fuels? My brother races late model stock cars at short tracks in Florida and other southern states. I checked on the Sunoco website and using the Fuel Finder function, checked two of the tracks where I know they compete. Both of them sell *only* Sunoco Standard, which is a leaded racing fuel. These small tracks are in many rural counties throughout the South and they pack in the crowds on many weekends a year. There are a lot more of these tracks than there are NASCAR tracks. Children love to go see the cars go round and round. Apart from filling their ears with excruciating noise and their lungs with rubber dust (the cars run the tires all the way down during a single race!) all those who attend are getting a measurable dose of lead each time they go. Here's the link to the Sunoco site, you can check the fuel finder to get the status of the race track nearest you.
Thank you for this. Fascinating. I just cancelled my CAC scan. Ihave high ApoB and wonder what you recommend for that? It’s my understanding that there are no pharmaceuticals that address it. Also- curious if o should try GLP-1 since I carry weight in midsection though I keep weight at 135 max at 5’4” have fatty liver for example. I walk daily and have been working to be more consistent with strength training.

His YouTube content is research-based and he cites peer-reviewed publications in his video presentations.
People can also work with him and his group individually.

BTW, my brother had coronary bypass surgery a couple of months ago and has had severe AFIB for years.
Is there any information on lead levels on proteomics signatures of organ aging?
Splendid stuff, as usual. Everybody should forward a copy to the MAHA contingent!
