Listen now (35 mins) | Will and Kristin Flanary have emerged as the leading medical comics of our time and, in many ways, as you'll see here, they're just getting going.
What a terrific duo these two are! I got a kick out of the unpronounceable (and unspellable) medicine skit, and really enjoyed Will Flanary’s comment “The joke there is, you don't have any idea how long it took me to say those things that quickly.” Frankly, I can’t fathom how he did it at all. The prior auth skit was also hilarious and oh, so true. Though I only lived through the patient end of this with an illness, I knew just what he was talking about. Also appreciated the shout out for what pharmacies go through with the PBMs, about which I only learned recently, renewing and enhancing my appreciation for independent pharmacies, particularly. I watched one of the U Mich graduate speeches, too. Such a wonderful blend of humor, compassion, insight, and advocacy. Inspiring and fun. Thanks for introducing the Flanarys to us here, Dr. Topol. Another winner episode for sure.
Eric: Thanks so much for posting this. I've been a fan of the Glaucomfleckens for several years. His observations are hilarious and spot-on, and I recommend his skits to all my colleagues.
My wife and I were fortunate to see Will and Kristin's excellent 90-minute show here in Denver yesterday afternoon. We did a brief meet-and-greet beforehand, and I shared that I had read your transcript that morning. I think the crowd was mostly composed of healthcare people, including some in veterinary medicine, and a few wore specialty-appropriate apparel. (I was in the front row with my radiology bro sunglasses.)
I’m long retired but always thought laughter important in medicine, since Norman Cousin”s article. I like your posts and reiterate, why so few indicate they hve read or watched. Our society seems to have lost their sense of humor

Thanks Susan. I love this couple and how they have turned tragedies to inspire us and make us laugh. We need it!
We sure do!
