Thanks for this chilling review. One question I have is, because much of the data relies on two points of measurement (2016 and 2024) it’s not clear that there has been a progressive increase in MNP production versus some acute change during that interval. One big pivot point may be COVID antibodies, as you’ve coved recently, and the impact on fibrinogen and the weakening of the so-called blood-brain barrier. If so, that could be a big part of the story, not just for overall brain health but for post COVID neuropsychiatric problems. I’d be interested in your thoughts there.
Thanks for this article. Ubiquitous problem and yet another that we need collective, enlightened, environmentally-conscious leadership to tackle. We have the opposite right now, so that leads to micro strategies to reduce plastic exposure we can incorporate into daily living, and supporting environmental groups and local causes.
We will add this to our brain health and dementia awareness work.
Thank you, Dr. Topol, for keeping your readers abreast of important developments in MPs research!
I am sending this to my physician.
I am subscribed, but the poll doesn't think I am for some reason. And Yes, this raises concerns about MNP a lot.
